Meow-Hiss/ My Feb Ornament

Well, better late than never :P Here is my finished ornament and I know its not the best but it decided to give me issues. I've never really liked doing odd shapes. It was a bad kitty...
I did love everyone's ornaments for this month! Now to find a normal shaped haunted house for March...

Elaine's February ornament

Barely made it! I've had the stitching done for a little while but just put it together tonight. I don't like the finishing or framing part so if I didn't have to do it for this SAL, it would probably wait a long time to be an ornament. :)
Hugs, Elaine

April's March Ornament

It is hard to believe that tomorrow is already March. For my March ornament I choose Hallow-wee House from Cheesie & Me. I am really looking forward to stitching this one up.

Pat's Black Cat

Here is my finished ornament, just under the wire:
Fraidy Cat by Jamie Kile
of Knotted Tree NeedleArt.

February's Black Cat

Just under the wire...again! This is my February ornament (I still have to add the ribbon hanger). It is from Blackbird Designs' Casting a Spell, and is called Black Cat.

I used the called for threads, but I actually stitched the cat in black, not the dark dark brown it called for. You can't really tell in the photo, but you can in "real life"!

Tiki Stitches - Black Cat February

I was excited to be joining in the SAL this month and went searching through my patterns for a black cat.  I found one on the back of Prairie Schoolers Book #156, Boo to You.  There was a cat and a pumpkin which helped me make up for missing last month.  So I got out the black floss and started stitching.  And then I looked at the pattern so I could find the other colors.  Strangest thing – no black – that cat was charted in 3371. Ha!  Short leap from there to changing every other color (except the cat’s nose) and this is where I ended up.

I’ve almost decided on a haunted house for next month.  This time I’ll read the pattern first – maybe!

Happy stitching!

April's February Ornament

I changed my mind about my ornament and decided to stitch up this beauty. This is October 31 pincushion by Stacy Nash Primitives. I love the black cat on this piece.

Kaye's February Finish

Hello fellow Halloween Sal-ers,

Here is my February finish - a real cutie from JCS Halloween Ornament Magazine 2012:

"Waiting" by Fern Ridge Collections (p.18).  I have my next piece all ready to start this morning on the train to work  - also from the same magazine.

It is lovely to see everyone's finished pieces,

hugs,

Jo's February Finish

Here is my stitching finished for February:

Jaunty Fox Fence Cat

It's a freebie from Jaunty Fox Designs found here.
Never heard of them?  I'm not surprised, they did this one freebie then vanished!

I stitched it on my favourite Burnt Orange Jazlyn 28count fabric.  1 over 1 using Anchor Black and a touch of DMC 728.  I experimented with the Anchor to see if it covered better than DMC Black.  It doesn't, but it's no worse either!

I'm not sure how I'll finish this one.  It's very small so would make a nice little sausage pillow.

Here is how I finished January's piece for my scrapbook:

Happy Stitching

February Finish - The Snowflower Diaries

I have finished my February ornament.   I planned to stitch a "bigger" design, but this month was so hectic, so I came up with this wee design, I hope you will like it.   I will share the chart, too on my soon-to-open blog.   I  had a black cat when I was a child and I loved him very much.   He was so mighty, he looked  like Bagheera from The Jungle Book:-)

Have a nice day!:-)

Carolyn's February Ornament Finish

Hello to All,

Here is my finish for February:

This is a freebie pattern by Our Pioneer Homestead called Black Cat Inn. I used 32-count Belfast Light Terra Cotta Fabric. I was going to use DMC 310 Floss but changed my mind and used Crescent Colours Hand Dyed "Blackbird" floss.

Hugs!

Katie's Feb Finish

My Feb pick. I found this piece in the 2010 Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue. Page 27 from Ink Circle called By the Full Moon. It was a fun fast stitch.

Friday 8 February 2013

This is my SanMan original January post.  I am afraid my camera skills are less than perfect.  Sorry to be so late.  Will try to do better in the future.

Thursday 7 February 2013

Well finished Pat and Glorias Boo a couple of days late. Will be doing PumpKitty a freebie By Bev Q. at Bevs Cottage.

Now to take care of sick real cat and get a new camera so I can try and get pictures done. Hope fully this months finish will be on time.

Best to all and happy stitching

Sorry, I'm Late!

One would think that the pumpkin I chose for my Jan. ornament would be a fast stitch & completed long before the end of the month...HA! It was so simple to stitch, I frogged it twice! First time, I was stitching the pumpkin in the wrong colors..rippit, rippit. Second time, I was off by two stitches in the border...rippit, rippit. Third time stitching was a charm! So, without further fanfare, here is A Crow's Pick, by Knotted Tree NeedleArt. Chart is from JCS Annual Halloween Issue 2011

Thank you again Lainey for organising the Halloween SAL.
See you all next month, with my black cat ornie.
Happy Stitching, Colleen

Colleen's Feb Ornament

For the February Black Cat Ornament, I will be stitching a freebie called Pumpkin Head Cat, from By The Bay Needleart. To have a peak of the silly cat, here is the link to Pumpkin Head Cat . Haven't decided on threads or fabric.
Have a happy, haunting, stitching time everyone!!
Until next time....Colleen

Lainey;s Kitty Cat!

My February kitty Cat comes from part of a freebie design by http://silvercutedwarf.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/halloween-is-coming.html  As it;s another small design I;m hoping I will have it finished in no time.
Thanks to everyone who is making the SAL such a success. Can;t wait to see all those February Cats.

Carolyn's February Ornament Choice

Good Day to Everyone,

I've decided to stitch "Black Cat Inn" freebie pattern by Our Pioneer Homestead. I'm stitching this on 32 Count Belfast-Light Terra Cotta and using DMC floss.

Happy Stitching!

February Pick

This month I chose a freebie, Pumpkin Kitty, by San-Man Originals.  I enjoyed stitching this more than I thought I would since I'm a dog person!  The purple linen is from my stash.  Glass beads finish the edging.

Theresa's January Pick

This month I chose "Scary Jack" a freebie from Shepherd's Bush that has been in my pattern stash for a while.

Pat's February Cat

I chose the Fraidy Cat design by Jamie Kile of Knotted Tree Needleart from the JCS 2011 Halloween Collection book.

Since the design doesn't call for any orange thread,
I decided to use some light orange 40-count linen
that I had in my stash.
We'll see how well that gold thread on the left
stands out from the ground.
I may need to switch it out!

Happy felines, everyone!

My February Pick

Hello all :)
I decided to do Mandy Cat in Witches Hat from the 2012 Just Cross Stitch issue. The only floss color needed is 310. It shows it being stitched on an orange 14ct aida but since I didn't have that color, and money is very tight, I picked a yellow color from my stash. I've had it for years, I think my aunt gave it to me, and had never found anything to do with it. Hopefully it works for this design! I will post a pic of my progress when I can.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Feb. starts, can't wait to see the wonderful finishes!
~Nicole~

April's February Pick

For February I am stitching the Black cat out of the Trix or Treat
Book from Blackbird Designs.  I can't get a good picture of it from the book, but will share my finish as soon as i am done.

Katie's Feb Pick

Wow it's February already?!?! My pick for this month is from Just Cross Stitch 2010 Halloween Issue. It's on page 27 by Inc Circles called By the Full Moon.

All the ornaments from January look great everyone!!! Good luck on this month's picks.

Jo's February Choice

This is my choice for February.

It's a freebie from Jaunty Fox Designs found here.
Never heard of them?  I'm not surprised, they did this one freebie then vanished!  I couldn't even find out the colour used for that lovely orange background.
I think I'll cheat and stitch it on orange fabric instead!

Happy Stitching
